In April, 2025, Tennessee passed Public Chapter 103, which band the use of electronic communication devices during instructional times at schools. With the school year mere months away, distrcits were forced to develop implementation plans and local policy to help enforce this new ban. We wanted to get initial adult stakeholder feedback to guage support of the policy and the perceived effectiveness. We surveyed parents, educators, administrators, and other school staff to gain insight into these perceptions.

In the fall semester of 2025, I took STEM 680: Foundations in Educational Data Science. The class focused on cleaning and analyzing data using R Studio. The final project of that course required working with a data set to clean, analyze, present, and report any findings. I chose to work with the data set from the TN Phones in Schools study.
